Sponsorship Categories
Car Sponsorship
| Individual – $150 Donation |
The sponsor’s name and logo will be prominently displayed on the car. All public reference to the car will be by SPONSOR NAME, DRIVER NAME and CAR NUMBER. The Race Car in the competition shall result at the sole expense of the participant and the participant’s family or benefactor. The ownership of the car, after the race, will reside with the participant and the participant’s family.
The car will qualify for entry in subsequent All-American Soap Box Derby sanctioned races, and it may be sponsored by anyone providing donation to each subsequent racing event. The participant and the participant’s family shall choose or request the SBD Committee to assign a car sponsor for any subsequent racing events. |
| Corporate – $50 Donation |
The sponsor’s name and logo will be prominently displayed on the car. All public reference to the car will be by SPONSOR NAME, DRIVER NAME and CAR NUMBER. The Race Car in the competition shall result at the sole expense of the sponsor. The subsequent ownership of the car, after the race, will reside with the SBD Committee, donated by the sponsor. The sponsor, however, may assist with the display and safe-keeping of the car and advise on its use by future race entrants.
The initial assembly, repair and/or overhaul, finishing and command of the race car before and during each racing event shall be the responsibility of the assigned participant, with the aid, assistance and support of the participant’s family. Initial and replacement parts shall be provided by the initial sponsor.
The car will qualify for entry in subsequent All-American Soap Box Derby sanctioned races. The car will remain sponsored by the initial sponsor. Additional donation will be necessary for each subsequent racing event. The sponsor shall choose or request the SBD Committee to assign a driver for the car at any subsequent racing events. |
| Shared – $100 Donation |
The sponsor’s name and logo will be prominently displayed on the car. All public reference to the car will be by SPONSOR NAME, DRIVER NAME and CAR NUMBER. The Race Car in the competition shall result from a partnership between the participant, the participant’s family, and an individual sponsor. The sponsor shall be solicited by the participant, the participant’s family; or assigned by the SBD Committee.
The assembly, finishing and command of the race car before and during the race shall be the responsibility of the participant, with the aid, assistance and support of the participant’s family.
The percentage of each partner’s expenses shall determine ownership or the subsequent right of possession, safe-keeping and/or disposition of the race car, after the race. Such ownership, or rights, shall reside with the member of the partnership having the greater amount of cash money donated or invested in the car; and shall be determined by the partners prior to the purchase and assembly of the car.
It is the intent of the SBD Committee that an entrant, with the help of parents and family, enjoy the experience of assembling a car and having the entrant participating in the race; as opposed to owning a car, for which a sponsor has provided for more than half the cost of the parts.
The car will qualify for entry in this and subsequent All-American Soap Box Derby sanctioned races as either an Individual car or a Corporate car, with full rights and conditions applying as outlined above for either category. |
Division Sponsorship (Race Day Patrons) – $500 Gift
The emphasis with sponsors is to build long term partnerships supporting the development and continuance of racing events promoted by the DuBois Area Soap Box Derby. Race Day Sponsors, as general benefactors of the Derby, will be recognized prominently during race day activities. The Race Day Sponsor's name and/or logo will be featured on race day signage, as follows:
- Race course banners
- Direction and course markers
- The launching ramp
- Signs on race day vehicles transporting race cars
Also, Race Day Sponsors will be recognized during the public address system announcements. And, they will receive half-page recognition in the Race Day printed program. |

Title Sponsorship – Up to $5,000 in Annual Cash Donations
The emphasis with sponsors is to build long term partnerships supporting the development and continuance of racing events promoted by the DuBois Area Soap Box Derby. Title Sponsors will be given top billing regarding all aspects surrounding the Derby. The Title Sponsor’s name and/or logo will be included in/on all of the following:
- The official Derby publications and website. This includes all materials printed or electronically transmitted.
- Advertisements, signs and so forth, including all materials published or displayed to promote the Derby.
- All Derby race cars, in addition to the name and logo of each individual race car sponsor.
- Local media releases. The Derby Committee will advise all local media sources to include reference to Title Sponsors in all public service announcements or news releases.
- Winning race cars competing in the National Championship races will exclusively and prominently display the name and logo of the Title Sponsor. This will be cars which qualify, by winning the local racing event, to participate in the National Championship races at Akron, Ohio.
- Derby fund raising events such as raffles or dinners. All fund raising events will include the Title Sponsor’s name and logo, together with that of the DuBois Area Soap Box Derby.
- Winners's Banquet; the Title Sponsors will be invited to participate at all banquets and celebrations.
- Participant's tee shirts. All tee shirts furnished by the DuBois Area Soap Box Derby will include the name and/or logo of Title Sponsors. |
